Your mission
Join a pioneering team in their scale-up phase. As Department Lead Product you will act as the "CEO of the Products," overseeing the products’ lifecycle from conceptualization to market launch and beyond. You excel in strategic thinking, have a strong business acumen and a good technical understanding.
The position includes, but is not limited to, the following roles and responsibilities:
- Develop a compelling product vision and strategy that aligns with company goals and market demands.
- Define, prioritize, and implement a comprehensive product roadmap including milestones and budget.
- Refine product features and opportunities for differentiation based on technical data, market research and the Sales team’s insights.
- Manage the commercial and technical product launch strategy to enable a successful market deployment.
- Calculate and manage unit costs, focusing on balancing quality, cost-efficiency, and environmental impact.
- Develop and implement effective go-to-market strategies, value propositions, and pricing models.
- Closely work with the Sales team to define key selling points and positioning to drive successful sales.
- Act as the primary interface between Product, Tech & Sales teams, ensuring alignment on goals and priorities.
- Oversee lifecycle management to optimize product relevance and profitability over time.
- Monitor product performance and customer satisfaction, identifying and executing improvements.
- Drive product portfolio based on continued tracking and assessment of competitor analysis and activities.
- Build, lead, and mentor a successful Product team fostering a collaborative and appreciative work culture.
Your profile

- Proficiency in English and German.
- You live in/close to Berlin or are willing to relocate.
- M.Sc. or higher in economics, a relevant engineering discipline, material science or equivalent OR have relevant long-term experience in Product Management.
- Proven experience building and leading cross-functional teams with an emphasis on open communication, mutual respect, and team empowerment.
- Strong ability to define a product vision and translate it into actionable plans that inspire stakeholders and drive alignment across the company.
- An aptitude for understanding detailed technical specifications and requirements and how they relate to commercial and technical product value.
- Solid experience in market research, financial analysis, and competitive positioning. Demonstrated success in managing product pricing and budgeting.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with both internal teams and external clients.
- Passionate about a positive climate impact and ready to contribute.
Details and Benefits
Duration: permanent full-time position (40h/week)
Start date: January 1st or later
Work location: hybrid - mix of on-site in Berlin (office), Bernau bei Berlin (lab/production), and flexible home office. Some travel (national and international) will be expected.
Salary: competitive salary including share options
